BlinkJar Bears It All for Geaux Grizzly

Jared Broussard • November 1, 2024

Hello everyone! It's Jared Broussard from BlinkJar Media. This November, I’m participating in the Geaux Grizzly Campaign to raise funds for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Along with nine other men from Baton Rouge, we’re growing our beards to support cancer research and patient care.

Why am I growing a beard?

The beard is more than just a bit of facial hair—it’s a powerful symbol. Like many of us, I have numerous family and friends affected by various forms of cancer. At BlinkJar, our team has connections across the nation, each with their own stories of how cancer has touched their lives. Growing a beard for the month of November might seem like a small gesture, but it's our way of raising awareness and showing solidarity against a disease that impacts so many. Every whisker grown and every dollar raised this month goes towards making a difference in the lives of those battling cancer.

What’s the Geaux Grizzly Campaign?

It's about who can raise the most money for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, with some beard-growing fun thrown in for good measure. The real winners are the patients and families who benefit from every dollar we raise.

Buzzworthy Beards at BlinkJar

At BlinkJar, we're known for generating buzz through our inbound marketing strategy, so naturally, we're bringing our A-game to a cause that matters. Given that I'm the only male in BlinkJar's Baton Rouge office, keeping the beard game strong falls squarely on my shoulders—no pressure, right? But don't worry, the suspense isn’t all on the beard front. Just wait until you see how our female team members at BlinkJar creatively and spiritedly step up to support the cause. Trust me, you're in for a real treat!

Celebrating Our Furry Friends

On my campaign page, you'll see our newest BarkJar family member, Winston. He's stepping up as our mini mascot to help launch this campaign. We know you love showcasing your pets too, so we encourage you to share a photo of your pet on our social media using #GeauxGrizzly2024. For every photo shared, BlinkJar will donate $10 to help fight cancer.

How You Can Help the Cause

  • Donate: The most important way you can support the campaign is by donating directly on my Geaux Grizzly fundraising page. Every dollar goes a long way in making a difference.
  • Matching Donation Days: Look out for days when we’ll match donations to double the impact of your contribution. We will be sharing this information across all of our social media platforms, so please follow us to stay in the know.
  • Share a Pet Photo: While showcasing your pets, remember each photo posted with #GeauxGrizzly2024 triggers an additional $10 donation from us.

Your support is crucial. Let’s work together to make this year’s Geaux Grizzly Campaign a success. Follow our updates, share your photos, donate, and help us spread the word. Ready to get involved? Let’s do this!

Why Your New Website Isn’t Showing Up in Google Yet
By Rikki Broussard October 22, 2025
Hey everyone, it’s Rikki here! I like to write blogs based on real questions from our clients. Recently, we launched two brand-new websites on fresh domains. Everything about the design, development, and launch went smoothly, but once the sites were live, both clients asked the same question: “Why can’t I find my site on Google yet? Launching a new website is exciting. After weeks (sometimes months) of planning and building, the site is finally live. Naturally, the next step is to open Google, type in one of your main keywords, and expect to see your business right at the top. But here’s the reality: search engines don’t work like flipping a light switch. It’s completely normal (although frustrating) for brand-new websites to take time before appearing in Google search results . How Google Finds and Ranks Websites When your new site goes live, Google has to: Crawl – Send its “bots” to scan and read the site. Index – Store those pages in Google’s database. Rank – Decide where your site belongs in the search results compared to competitors. Submitting a sitemap and setting up Google Search Console helps Google know your site exists. But discovery doesn’t mean instant visibility; it just means the process has started.
