Wife, Mother, Artist, Volleyball “Has-Been"

What does Renton, Washington have in common with Thibodaux, Louisiana? Before you dig endlessly for the answer in countless searches on Google, the answer is Cheri Fasy. Born on the kitchen floor in Renton, Washington, Cheri spent her childhood frolicking under the moonlight in the evergreen forests where her mind wandered to so many unimaginable places. Ironically, reality provided Cheri with a destination that no illusion or dream could match – Thibodaux, Louisiana.

Cheri received a scholarship to Nicholls State in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to play Volleyball. Majoring in French, Cheri soaked up both the French influence and warm sun of South Louisiana. As Cheri advanced through college, she realized a degree in French might be challenging for career opportunities. While Cheri knew how to juggle and ride a unicycle, the thought of life in the Barnum & Bailey Circus was not appealing. It wasn't until she took an art class in college that Cheri realized she should follow her artistic passion and concentrate in Graphic Design. Growing up, "Cheri Doodles" (her childhood nickname) was always surrounded by art. Her mother is a quilt artist, and her dad was a poet and computer programmer. 

Once out of college, Cheri and her college design instructor partnered to start a Graphic Design firm. Later, Cheri moved to Baton Rouge and transitioned to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center as a Senior Graphic Designer. 

The values shared at BlinkJar Media are what immediately drew Cheri to the team. She wanted a workplace where she could be herself, work hard, and be surrounded by other talented individuals. She also wanted an environment where people wouldn't judge her for talking or singing out loud to her plants or whistling along to Claude Debussy. To date, there have been no complaints to our HR Department about Cheri.

When she's not designing at BlinkJar or taking an educational class in gardening, Cheri loves to spend her time with her daughter, Jolie, and her wife, Anastasia.
